Experienced surf swimmer and USA Triathlon certified coach, Martin Spierings guides you through the psychological and physical challenges to becoming confident swimmers in the ocean.
Topics and skills covered:
- Tips for swimming in a wetsuit and cold water.
- How to negotiate entry/exits, surf breaks, buoys and other open water variables.
- Tips and strategies for managing group swimming; drafting, contact, start line positioning.
- Practice swim close to shore in Cowell Beach area if desired.
Bring a swimming wetsuit, goggles, towel, water and other stuff for swimming! (Reach out to Martin tricoachmartin@gmail.com if you need to rent a wetsuit)
Meet near Blue Lifeguard Tower 1 on Cowell Beach behind bathrooms. Street parking is available around the area near the Dream Inn or park on the wharf.
