8:10AM: B-Ride Mount Hamilton (8:30 wheelsup)

About this event

Weather looks great to do the climb of the season.

Overview:

A classic set up climbs up to Mt Hamilton.

We'll mix it up on this climb by offer a "short course" version and a "long course" version.

Both groups will start at the same spot, and return on the same route, but the "Group B" team will add 12 miles of riding and another 1000 feet of elevation gain up to Mt Hamilton.  Hopefully, this allows a broader range of people to ride the route, yet all return together.

If you are new to the group or thinking about doing this for the first time, welcome!  The group is fun and a great way to get involved with the club.

If you are a first timer, feel free to show up.  We have not done this route yet, so there may be a little adventure in the day.

1.Please see the picture below.  We will meet at SANTA CLARA COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT @ 5965 Silver Creek Valley Rd, San Jose, CA 95138.

2. I think Lick has water.

3.This will have more climbing that anything we've done this year.  The most challenging section should be Quimby road on the way up.  There is a short section which is just a little steeper than Tunitas Creek road, which many in the group have ridden.   I believe everybody will be okay on it.

4.Theo often takes a few pictures of the ride.  If you are camera shy, just make sure to ask him to leave you out of the big picture and/or delete any evidence that you were there.
