"Training TIps for Time-Starved Athletes" - Brad Hunter, Assistant Coach, Purple Patch Fitness
Brad has extensive experience in endurance sports, starting as a collegiate athlete in track and field and cross country, and continuing into triathlon following college as a reaction to the all too common situation faced by many runners of all levels, ailments, and injuries. Brad’s mission and goal of endurance sport transitioned to health, growth in a new sport, and a platform to thrive in other areas of life. This background in elite sport and evolving mindset made him an ideal fit with the Purple Patch coaching team. Brad joined Purple Patch following professional work in international relations and corporate life, choosing to shift toward education and mentorship in fitness and performance.

Based in San Francisco, Brad works side-by-side, directly with Matt Dixon for most of the in-person Squad coaching. Brad has grown and deepened his coaching skills via direct mentorship, in-person application, and coaching alongside Matt. This close collaboration on methodology, athlete development, and management provides Brad the experience of managing and coaching athletes of all levels to success, including multiple qualifiers to world championship races in both 70.3 and Ironman.
Having dealt with and overcome periods of ongoing injuries and athletic struggles, Brad has experienced the challenging frustrations that afflict all athletes at one time or another. By Identifying each athlete’s unique life context, Brad helps others navigate these situations with patience and a holistic approach to find peak performance.
