A replay of our March 5 orientation meeting (~30 minute Zoom) is available here.

Join us June 26-28 at The Bishop's Ranch!   Our base is a beautiful retreat and conference center 10 minutes south of Healdsburg in the heart of the Sonoma/Russian River wine country.  Once again our Training Weekend offers a terrific experience with a choice of cottages, lodge rooms, camping, or RV.  Enjoy delicious chef-cooked breakfasts, lunches, and dinners each day, evening social, and much more!   As in the past, you'll have swim, bike, and run options designed to meet a full range of abilities and training needs.  Or, skip the workouts and enjoy sunning along the Russian River, wine-tasting in the nearby vineyards, or just relaxing in the camp.  We're planning some unique social activities as well.  This year's setup is very flexible - designed to be both family-friendly and athlete-friendly!

Registration is Required - Payment in Advance Only
Everyone must register and pay the registration fee whether you're participating in the training programs or just to enjoy the meals and social activities.  The registration fee INCREASES at the cutoff times indicated below, and is NON-REFUNDABLE.  You must be a fully-paid member of your club (or guest of club member) to register for this event. Trial members are NOT eligible unless they join and convert to full membership prior to registering for this event.

Members' guests or family members pay the same rate as members.  Children 12 and under are free if staying in the same room as an adult.

A $100 rebate is offered to those who volunteer to be SAG drivers or an Aid Station host on the bike course, subject to availability and prior approval by Rick Schwartz.  We anticipate needing 3-4 SAG drivers and 2-3 Aid Station hosts.  SAG drivers must be able to carry at least one bike on their vehicle, and preferably two, and be able to carefully follow the course map/cue sheet for their ride.  Aid Station hosts will drive food and supplies to the aid station  location and help set up a canopy and tables.  If you volunteer for one of these slots, you will not be able to participate in the bike ride.   If you're unsure what's involved in each role, check with Rick Schwartz, who must pre-approve your slot.  The rebate will be paid shortly after the training weekend concludes.

About The Bishop's Ranch
This retreat and conference center is located on Westside Rd. about 10 minutes south from Healdsburg. The mission of The Bishop's Ranch is to share a place of rare beauty through hospitality that nourishes spirit, body and mind.  The Ranch was founded in 1947 when the Episcopal Diocese of California, led by Bishop Karl Morgan Block, purchased the Ranch House and 63 acres of land from the White family. Prior to the purchase, the building and land were part of an 8,000 acre working ranch. The campus has expanded over the years and now sits on 365 acres of truly special land.  The facilities include a large dining commons, meeting/workshop areas, porch and sitting areas for social and relaxation, swimming pool, campfire circles, a labyrinth, and trails.

For more about the Ranch and photos of facilities and lodging options, go to: https://www.bishopsranch.org/ and for a map of the Center: Bishop's Ranch Layout.   Note that The Bishop's Ranch is unable to accommodate pets other than documented service animals.

Lodge Rooms - pictures & floor plans:  Ranch House  Webb Lodge
We have two lodge buildings reserved, the Ranch House and Webb Lodge.

The Ranch House is a gracious two-story, Spanish-style building built in 1930. This historic building has 15 unique bedrooms, mostly Doubles with either a Queen bed, Full bed, or 2 Twin beds, and two Triples (3 beds) with either a Queen & 2 Twins, or a Queen, Full, & Twin.  All rooms have private baths except that the shower for 3 rooms is in the hallway (shared).  If you are a larger family or group wishing to share a room, please reach out to Rick Schwartz directly as some of the rooms can be configured for more than 3 persons (extra person cost is the much lower campsite fee).   The Ranch House offers many comforts, including a large living room with stone fireplace and piano, and seating for 40.  There is a large outdoor courtyard, a library, dining room, sun room, and full kitchen.

Webb Lodge is a two-story building featuring ten private rooms, each with their own bathroom and deck that overlook rolling hills and stately oaks. Nine of the rooms contain one full-sized bed and one twin sized bed. The tenth room is wheelchair accessible and contains two twin beds.  Attached to Webb Lodge is a lovely courtyard with outdoor seating as well as the Graupner Room (capacity 16), a comfortable group living room with open beam ceilings, fireplace, and kitchenette.

When you register for this event specifying a Lodge Room, you will be asked to indicate any preferences (e.g., which lodge, bed type, upper or lower level, designated roommates, etc.).

Cottages - pictures & floor plans:  Cottages
Five comfortable cottages are arranged in a ring surrounding a lawn with outdoor seating, comprising the St. Stephen’s Village. Each cottage has two bedrooms along with a sitting room and a full bathroom (shared by the two bedrooms in that cottage). We've configured the cottages to allow for 6 single bedrooms (Twin bed), 2 double bedrooms (2 Twin beds), and 2 triple bedrooms (2 Twin beds & 1 lower Bunk).  A triple is the most economical option for a group of three sharing a room - when you register for this event specifying a Cottage Room, you will be asked to indicate any preferences (e.g., bed type, designated roommates, etc.).  If you are a larger family or group wishing to share a cottage, please reach out to Rick Schwartz directly as some of the bedrooms can be configured for 4 persons willing to use both the upper and lower Bunk beds (cost for that additional person would be the much lower campsite fee).

Camping option - pictures:  Campsites
The Bishop's Ranch offers a camping area for those who enjoy being more immersed in nature.  There are five campsites, three with wooden pads and two without. The three with pads can accommodate a larger tent for up to 4 persons, while the two others can accommodate a smaller tent for up to 2 persons.   Bathrooms and showers are adjacent to a nearby meeting room.  Campsites are the lowest-cost option for the weekend; they are priced on a per-person (not site) basis that includes all the meals and activities of the weekend.

RV's may be allowed by prior arrangement with certain restrictions - check with Rick for details.  Price and access to bathrooms and showers is the same as for the camping option.

How Much Does it Cost?
Early reservations help us with planning the weekend and ensuring that we reserve appropriate capacity for the group, and the right mix of lodge rooms and cabin rooms.   Thus we're providing substantial discounts if you book early.

Prices are per-person for weekend including room and meals Friday evening through Sunday breakfast (and Sunday lunch for open water swimmers)
Assumes occupancy 2 per double, 3 per triple.  Limited availability; rooms will be assigned in the order that paid reservations were received.  When you register, you will be asked preferences for room location, bed type, roommate, etc.  Some rooms can accommodate an additional person (at the campsite price) - check with Rick for details.
Fees are non-refundable.
Children age 12 and under are free in same room with adult but should be included in the adult's registration when you register.
